Eight Ladies Leaping
Terri French

The pattern is my own and is hand appliqué, hand embroidered and machine pieced and quilted; the fabric and batting are 100% cotton. I found a picture of a ballerina and knew I needed to make a ballerina quilt. I drew my own ballerina and they joined hands to leap in a circle and a traditional block appeared, “spinning wheels.” The choice of pink was obvious but I really love the addition of the blues and turquoise. Aside from the toe shoes, of course all ballerinas require large bouquets of flowers.

Cobweb Confetti & Entanglement
Jan Lehmann-Shaw
Both were made by me with my hand dyed cottons and a black background so they complement each other. They are machine pieced and quilted.
Other works by Vicki Cederberg and Betty Standiferd.

New Mexico Dancing Sunset
Barbara Gary
Quilted by Bob Schenck
My entry was made from a Judy Niemeyer pattern using paper-piecing methods. The quilt is made using a collection of bright batiks set against a darker background. Colorful New York Beauty arcs and floating spikes develop an interesting pathway to catch the observer's eye.

My Red Delicious
Norma Jean Koelm

"My Red Delicious" was an internet block of the month by Esther Aliu. I made a few changes but was inspired by Esther's pattern. It is hand appliquéd and hand quilted done in reds and blacks on a grey background.

Santa Fe Daybright
Linda Romero
From the Michelle Watts  Midnight in Santa Fe  pattern
Quilted by Bob and Linda Schenck of Creation Quilting

Michelle Watts taught the pattern in a Thimbleweeds class.   Her quilting ideas are priceless and her instructions inspired me -- challenged me! -- to perfect my piecing skills.  Instead of the midnight colors Michelle used in her demonstration quilt, I chose very vibrant Santa Fe colors of gold, purple, green, and red. Hence the name Daybright.

In the Garden of my Dreams - No Snakes Allowed!
Linda Romero
Quilted by Leona Van Leeuwen

Upon seeing the beautiful oversized flower fabric in all my favorite colors, I knew I had to make this quilt.  Though it is not a difficult pattern to piece, the very colorful and dramatic fabric make it eye-catching.  Leona quilted it perfectly!

Remember Who You Are
Meg Porch
Machine Quilted by Kathryn Fuller, Catamount Quilting
Pattern Source:  Mark Lipinski, Stars and Stripes, from Love of Quilting September/October 2012
A patriotic quilt with stars and wavy stripes of red, white, and blue to honor a returning soldier from a long tour in Afghanistan.

Debbie Rogulich
Joshua's Quilt
The blocks were printed with a die-cut sponge and acrylic paint. The designs were picked using the fabric in the quilt. Machine pieced and hand quilted.
